This collection is one of the richest and most homogenous in Portugal. It includes pre-romanticism, portrait, landscape painting (Silva Porto and Henrique Pousão) and representative works of romanticism. It continues through the modernist expressions of the twentieth century with testimonies of the most significant artistic output of the fifties, where we can find names like Carlos Reis, Dórdio Gomes or João Hogan.
