The catalogue of the exhibition consists of an illustrated text which seeks to deepen our knowledge of the 10 paintings from the collection of M.N.S.R. that are central to the exhibition. Entirely written by José Alberto Seabra Carvalho, it compares them with other paintings by the same authors or the workshops to which they are attributed. The catalogue also includes a brief study by José Pessoa on x-raying works of art as an auxiliary method of investigation, with reference to the history of its use. The publication is completed by a brief biography of the painters whose work is displayed along with the respective data referring to each.
